South Carolina Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm whether someone is in custody or has been released, remove or provide a booking photo, post bond, or obtain an official record. Please contact the public agency that holds the record.

Choose the Right Record Office

South Carolina has county and state record systems, and no single county office handles every arrest across the state. Start with the place and type of record you need. A county booking record belongs with the relevant county agency; a state-prison profile belongs with the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC).

  • A county arrest or jail booking: use the County Directory to reach the county site for that location. Local agencies maintain their own records and determine which roster or booking details they publish.
  • A booking report or photograph: the statewide record guide explains the record and request path. South Carolina FOIA, S.C. Code ยงยง 30-4-20 and 30-4-30, provides access to nonexempt public records held by a public body. Requests go to the office that holds the item, and exemptions can apply.
  • A current state-prison profile or photo: read the SCDC search disclaimer and open the SCDC public inmate search. It covers people currently sentenced to and incarcerated in SCDC, with information current as of midnight the prior day. It does not cover county detention or people released from SCDC.
  • An SCDC record that is not in the locator: send a records request to FOIA@doc.sc.gov. For a locator error, follow the Ombudsman route listed on the official SCDC disclaimer.
  • A supervision fugitive listing: consult the official SCDPPPS Most Wanted page. A listing is not a court finding of guilt; follow its safety instructions.
  • Federal custody: check the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator or the ICE detainee locator. The BOP locator does not provide public booking photographs.
